The 17th anniversary of this site just passed and 17 years of editing or making sprites lead up to some huge sprite galleries. Thing is, I really don’t feel like programming or making cornerbox graphics for every character and I’m not sure exactly how I’ll split everything into those galleries. So, while re-coding the gallery script, I added a sub-gallery feature. The galleries with sub-galleries usually have a section at the top with a single sprite or graphic of those characters.

Clicking on a sprite in that section leads to the character’s sub-gallery:

Right now, the only galleries using them are the Marvel and DC Comics galleries, mainly because they were the most bloated. They’re STILL bloated, because I’ve only done enough to test how much they work. More galleries will be divided in future updates. One side effects of the new gallery system is that there’s more room to post the extra sprites, animations and palettes that would’ve slowed down the old single pages or made them more clunky looking. By the way, the DC and Marvel galleries have new corner box pics, so give ’em a glance while you’re on those pages, because you might find something that isn’t in the gallery.

The Princess Peach picture is finally available in the ScrollBoss Shop!

The 9th of August is fast approaching and that means a certain theme will return to this site on that day. Be sure to come back next week for…

Things have gotten rough again IRL, so print sale prices and pixel art commissions are back again!

Print sale prices: 8×10 and 8×11 prints are $5.00 each, 11 x 17 prints $8.00 each!

Game-related prints can be found on the Shop Page. If you’re looking for something other than game-related pics, please check out the Prints page on my Illmosis site for a bigger selection!

Pixel art commissions are open again! Static/single frame only (for now). Please check out the Illmosis site’s commissions page for details!

The site will be going on a short pause for a while, but this update is here to give you a taste of what you’ll be seeing this year.

More games and game series will get their own custom sprite gallery pages, like Streets of Rage did in this update. Axel, Blaze, Max and Electra have new sprites to kick off that new gallery page. Meanwhile, Kung-Fu Master’s Thomas’ new scratch-made sprite and Jose from Ninja Baseball Bat Man hit the IREM gallery. I doubt that I’ll be able to have ALL the old sprite edits replaced with scratch-made work this year, but I plan to come close to it. These things, along with two IREM-related minilogos, have been added to the GFX Generators.

I have a lot of things to work on during the site pause. I have a commission assignment I’ve been working on, a new version of the GFX Generators (see this Tumblr post for details), and more things like this:

I plan to finally knock the dust off of the ScrollBoss YouTube channel this year and part of my January has been spent working on material.

Zweifuss, sprite ripper and creator of that massive Street Fighter III: Third Strike site, needs help renewing the site for another year. Please donate to the cause if you can, especially if the site has helped you. Any SFIII stuff you see on my site, including sprite edits that started as SFIII sprites, come from his rips

Shout out to Jessica for the feedback https://quitday.org/ and http://www.ffsonline.org for the link help!
(edit: links deactivated, don’t seem to be what they used to be anymore)

I’ll still be active on Tumblr and Twitter, posting stuff like this:

To quote Guru, “Peace out. We’ll be back. Stay tuned.”

edit: I was going to save this clip until later, but, as ol’ Jack Burton says, what the hell…
