I finally got a video together of Bred in action using OpenBoR as a test engine:

This sprite test is still using early versions of a few sprites including the punch with a botched transition animation. It’s hard to play and purposefully get hit and it’s even harder to get close enough to Bred to make him do that knee strike, the main attack that I like in the set. The first version of the sprite set should be available later this month.

BTW: No, I’m not making a mod for OpenBoR. It’s just really great and easy for testing animations as they’d work in a game.

  1. I didn’t think it had been that long since I last visited, but you’ve clearly been really busy. The Bred sprites are very faithful to the original & yet fully embody the Alpha style. Excellent work.

I really like the Michael Dooney style TMNT sprites, makes me want to see a Mirage inspired game. At some future point I’d like to trade notes with you about spriting/pixeling if it’s possible. I’ve done allot of reading on it & have my own strange work flow…

Keep going PrimeOp, your work is appreciated!

  2. Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Fight’N Words. I hope the finished sprite sets come in handy for the BoR community since there is a natural lack of Capcom-style drone sprites.

I had the Michael Dooney TMNT poster of the issue #4 reprint cover on my wall long ago so his style has an influence on how I sprited the Turtles there. I’ll do the same multi-continuity variants when I get around to other characters in the series.
